Lava in Guatemala This imagery shows La Reunion Golf Resort in Guatemala before and after the nearby eruption of the Volcan de Fuego (Volcano of Fire). The destructive path of the volcanic ash can be seen pouring over multiple buildings and leeching onto the golf course. Immediate and rapid imagery, such as this, could be helpful in the recovery of the nearly 200 people that went missing after this disaster. This type of imagery comparison can also be helpful in studying how eruption debris flows in order to engineer preemptive measures in the future.
